We recently wrote about the fact that we are raising four gifted, children.
Over the last several years, we have realized that being gifted has to do with the whole child, and not just educational needs. One of our desperate Google searches for help lead us to SENG. It has since become our ‘go to‘ when we are looking for answers to various emotional issues that the children are dealing with.
After finding ourselves on their site on a weekly basis, we became very interested in attending the 2012 Conference. We wanted to be able to get involved and meet others dealing with similar issues. But we also noticed that there were certain skills that we could offer, that they might benefit from, specifically, a promotional video and a social media strategy and presence.
Because we have gotten so much help from their site, we reached out, offered to help, and they accepted
(*commence with the happy dance*).
We will be filming throughout the conference and interviewing speakers and attendees in order to create a promotional video for future events. Additionally, we are helping them plan and implement their social media usage from the promotional aspect to the post-conference follow-up. I (Karla) will be leading an Intro to Twitter for attendees on Thursday night for anyone wanting to understand how to use Twitter during a conference. On top of this, our two oldest are going and will attend the children’s portion.
We are honored to be a part of the conference, and absolutely thrilled to be able to give back to an organization that has given us so much.
If you are attending, please let us know. We’d love to meet you!
Be sure to follow us on Twitter (@KarlaArcher, @RandyArcher , SENG_Gifted, #SENG12) and Facebook for more information and for updates during the conference.
