February 15, 2010 is the date that, after thousands of emails, texts, tweets, DM’s, photos and countless hours on the phone, Randy and I finally got to meet face-to-face.
Last year, I wrote about it, using only texts and photos from that very day. I still think it’s the very best way to capture that day, so I’m simply linking to that recap. It’s a moment I would never be able to sum up adequately with words, so I’d rather not even try…
What a life changer that day was.
Hi Karla, I stumbled upon your blog through an instagram photo, and felt compelled to share my own significant February 15 with you – I think it must be a powerful date!
15 February 2012 marks the day that I landed at Brisbane airport to be with my love, a man who I dated and fell in love with back when I was 21(am now 43), and who I have rekindled contact through Facebook, Skype, text, telephone and monthly flights across the country since March 2011 (not a true geek relationship I know, but definitely one that was sustained through technology). In the last 11 months we have clocked up over 250 skype hours, an obscene amount of frequent flier miles, and over 14,000 text messages while both functioning as full time single parents with full time careers. So now I have quit my job, packed up my home, gathered up my children and arrived on the East coast of our lovely county, ready to live my own dream with my true love.
So it seems that you and I share an anniversary of sorts. A belated Valentines Celebration of love. 15 Feb, such a magical and life changing day.
Enjoy your happiness, as I will mine.
